There are two important events to take into consideration starting the two thousand year. The first one is the death of Bettino Craxi, the entire mass media talk about and that remind us a sentence of Ernest Hemingway: "Don't ask for whom the bell rings, it rings for you too". Words that come back to one's mind watching by television at the counterfeiters of feelings, those that never stop neither in front of death. No reserve restrains them, they parade with contrite faces after a coffin, to make what they said and did or did not be forgotten. Friends that were friends till the lion roared, enemies that acted to hit, to destroy the personage, and now all of them seemingly repentant and broken-hearted are ready anyhow to use also the death to their advantage.
Obviously someone will say that we are followers of Craxi, we weren't even at the times it was very useful and we are not his followers either today. Since ever we have supported that Tangentopoli was and it couldn't be but a political fight, a political fight carried on with the methods of the real socialism: psychiatric appraisal and trials ad hoc. Time proved we were right. To Craxi all our human understanding and our respect. If he mistook he paid a very high price.
Emblematic of an incomprehensible judicial situation is the release of multiple homicide bandits, due to the expiring of the preventive detention terms. It raises natural a question: why trials were not hold and who is the responsible? In Germany it has started the Calvary of another great statesman. Helmut Kohl is in the eye of the storm; usual procedures are employed for him too. Which will be the reaction of Kohl? Will he choose exile too?

The other event is the first scandal involving directly the government on charge; that affecting the pride of the Civil Protection, the "Rainbow Mission".
The beginning of the new millennium is not exciting, but the end of the '900 has deserved us a real miracle: the Premier, since ever professedly lay went on Christmas, first to Bethlehem and then to a convent.
We know that God's ways are infinite, but maybe the ways to power are infinite too.
