The periodicity of this magazine advises against editorials suggested by chronicle. For my own part instead, I deem that reflecting on reality better if highlighting an exact news item of whichever colour, is the most serious, necessary and sound act that could be attempted in this odd trade of "opinion maker ".

Imagine when I'm right about the going on of facts, I mean that I'm right about the mentioned method: it has just happened with the judicial evil coming from the scandal of the "Missione Arcobaleno" and the robberies at Valona. Indeed in the issue 9 of the last year, an article entitled "In the trap of information " and drawn up for Leadership obviously some months before the news coming out in summer (cf. "Panorama" and "Striscia la notizia"), I argued about this matter "independently from the development the scandal would show".

I identified 4 points, when the "scandal was hot": the first one was that the collection of 128 billions from pockets and hearts of Italians was and out of common prove of solidarity. The second one concerned that at the origin of the "Arcobaleno" mission there was anyhow ambiguity: that the midwife of the mission were the Premiership instead of some no-governmental organization as usual. Hence a government that with a hand makes war and the other coordinates aid for the Kosovo. I add now that inside the paradox there's another one: do you remember that D'Alema was outraged by the suspect raised also by masterheads as "Repubblica" of Scalfari, by the means of Montanelli and Bobbio as special "testimonials" of the collection? Now don't judges that investigate profuse in stating precisely that the Premiership helped them in investigations? And wouldn't it be better to take this position publicly and vigorously at once? The third point concerns costume: if you appeal to emotion in asking for aid, how can you complain about the fact it's emotive the same the reaction to the news about the robberies by then still conjectured? The fourth point concerned information (as in the title): we attended to a big dosis instrumental use of the bad business. Press, newspapers and radio television broadcasting, close to the government "lulled and severed " what the ones of the opposition cried out both giving unfortunately the impression (but the former much more than the latter) that they did not want to report facts but their political utilization. It was speculated about the helpfulness of a population, our people, leaving the doubt that if majority were inverted the same would have happened, a depressing political and media phenomenon. While I'm writing Bettino Craxi has been buried from few time: using the same reflection method about chronicle - and what a chronicle for a so 'historical' history - I'm convinced that the exultation of some relevant political personages, "survived" the so-called First Republic, both in majority and opposition, individuals splitting the Craxi's political loot, and not only, and that in these years have moved all the time with caution for the back-thought "and if it arrives a fax from Hammamet?", these personages exulting (in private) for the death of their puppeteer, next future will change the Italian sets since now they have free hand. Would you bet on?
