In this
month Oliviero Beha that in this
issued focused his attention and his commentary on the recall by the Holy
Father to magistrates during his audience with them. As our editorial
policy, even if not sharing what our friend and very valuable collaborator
wrote, we publish entirely his article, since we acknowledge him the right to
express freely his thought, as well as we have the right to report ours. That because we
want coherently grant the most real freedom of the press, so rare over these
times when they make use and misuse impudently of terms as “democracy”,
“freedom” etc. in order to ground behaviours against any kind of freedom,
democracy etc. Provided that,
we deem that there has not been any omission by the Pope in not reminding the
event concerning cardinal Giordano. We deem that,
maybe or better surely, the Holy Father knows something more than us about
this case; at any extent cardinal Giordano has not been condemned and so it
must be coherent even toward him in acknowledging him as well everybody, the
civil right of presumption of innocence, before the statement of culpability,
and so wait the end of the justice procedure. Another
consideration about this episode is that magistrates received in Vatican are
conjectured they are, the most, of catholic Christian faith; on consequence,
among the tasks of the Pope there's also the duty to call them to act and
work in the full respect of human dignity, right and duty of any individual. This is a
principle to which it's not lawful to carry prejudice, especially by a
Catholic practising a profession easy to slip into a repressive form. It has been just
spread the electoral results and D'Alema resignation. To justify the
not exalting electoral results inside the defeated coalition it has started
the “destalinization”. D'Alema is now the scapegoat: all as expected, nothing
new... next please! President Ciampi
has advanced that the next government must be inspired to a remarkable
reduction of ministries and undersecretaries; without lacking respect to the
President's purposes, we bet on that ministries would not decrease, and far
less the undersecretaries, that's a bet won! A chair is always a sure glue to
find an agreement, it's enough to accord everyone a chair in addition or at
least let him keep the current one. We won't wonder if the president's
intents will be only intents. They say that
the road to hell is paved with good intentions... but what about the bad
ones?
