Farmades – A production with no controls

.  Rome pharmaceutical company Farmades withdrew "Levofolene 10" from the market. "Minias 10", a drug against anxiety and insomnia, ended up in the package of the Levofolene because of a "mistake". The company informed the Drug and Surveillance Department of the Ministry of Health that later spread the news. Thus the company "avoided" its duty to issue a press release to inform customers about this unacceptable mistake and "delegated" the Ministry for everything.
There is talk of health mismanagement in hospitals (just remember the recent cases at Rome's Policlinico Gemelli, or Milan's Galeazzi and San Raffaele, just to name a few), of poor services to the sick, of administrative and organisation problems of health care facilities. However, in Farmades specific case, as with Manetti & Roberts (that had to
close its pharmaceutical department in Calenzano due to serious irregularities), health mismanagement and industrial mismanagement coincide. Who protects consumers from such unacceptable mistakes?
