Very beautiful the opinions trough time about Giotto (Villani, Dante, Boccaccio...) that must be deemed among the artists the most modern of the ancient art. And here it is that in the new rooms for temporary expositions of the gallery at the Academy they host till September 30th, in Florence, the wide exhibition ever realized about the Giotto's works, and further an opportunity to know the early studies of the best experts over the entire Giotto's work and his shop work, beginning from Luciano Bellosi, Giorgio Bonsanti and Miklos Boskovits. A survey into the work of Giotto, supreme innovator of the western painting, the top and starting and arriving point together, falling seven hundred years later after his art activity at Rome at the Bonifacio VIII' Jubilee in 1300. A renovative record of Giotto that first put man at the centre of his work, acknowledged already by his behaviours, till Vasari that in the sixties of the sixteen century reminds curious episodes, as that of the fly painted on a wood in the workshop of Cimabue, mistaken for real. To understand who was Giotto is good to know that he was a painter, an architect, a sculptor and ante litteram entrepreneur, director of building yards, and elected in 1334 by the municipality of Florence "magistrum et gubernatorem" not only for the works of the Cathedral but also of other public works as the walls. Sponsored by several bodies and by the Superintendence of Florence, coordinated by Angelo Tartuferi along with a committee of experts, the review shows thirty-six works among paintings, sculptures and drawings. Giotto, son of the blacksmith Bondone di Angiolino, born at Colle di Vespignano near Vicchio di Mugello, round 1267, was educated in the Florentine workshop of Cimabue. Fictionalised the news that tells Ghiberti about a very young Giotto shepherd spotted by Cimabue, while he draws sheep, while there is the real registration of the young in the powerful Guild of the Wool, after the family moved to Florence at the clique of Santa Maria Novella. It must be underlined that the first important experiences Giotto carried out, in the last ten-year period of the thirteen-century, at Assisi, invited to paint the High Basilica by the Franciscans.
