The year of the centenary is sure an unforgettable year for the sports club Lazio both by the sport and strictly corporation viewpoint.

Winning the championship shield that slipped them away last year, along with winning the Italy Cup and the European Supercup proves even more how the reorganization work started with the entering of Cagnotti as the controller shareholder has given good results.

Even more important to underline is how, notwithstanding the financial efforts carried out in the 1999 summer to make ever more competitive the first team and the following increase of costs, the gratifying trend of proceeds and capital gains of the conveyances campaign has contributed to rise, for the fifth consecutive year, a positive economic result.

The corporation turnover reached indeed the remarkable amount of 243 billions, after capitalisation of the costs of breeding ground, 64,19% more than previous season.

Such amount comes mainly from the receipts of matches by 51,6 billions, TV rights by 132 billions, sponsoring, advertising, royalties by 40,5 billions. It’s interesting to notice that the trend of the security mainly as regard its “dependence” on sport results.

Leaving out the unavoidable peaks reached coinciding the victories of the European supercup, the championship and the Italy cup, shares enjoyed a substantially stability and that proves the fact that capital market succeeds in binding its evaluation more to the economic results than to the sport ones.

The Sports Club Lazio is going on that transformation process casting it ever more as a company whose activity is the entertainment, whereas the sport event represents the main element but not the only one.

By this viewpoint it has been developed the marketing area and within this frame it places the repeatedly mentioned project to acquire, if possible, the Olympic stadium, co-ownership with the Roma, to turn it into a very modern stadium, with restaurants, shops, funfair for children, and whereas it were not possible building a new one.

While waiting, the company has established at Formello, where football players train, a Club House - 25 hectares for a 50 billions investment - that aims to be a real club for Vip, equipped with the most advanced structures.

So entertainment wide-range, even if a lot still depends on what happens on the playground.
