"Mercanti.

Philip D. Curtin
Laterza   pp. 329   25.000
Enclosing the history of trade in few hundreds pages (even very thick written) may seem impossible, notwithstanding the author is a prestigious historian of the Johns Hopkins University of Baltimore. Really he had delimited his investigation to the intercultural exchanges.
In practice in the whole handling he privileged only some examples of trade relationships of great historic relevance, neglecting at all the trades inwards certain cultural areas or those that, even if concerning heterogeneous areas, are not supported by a proper bibliographic research.

The early war in the Balkans has risen for the umpteenth time the open questions about the functions and mainly the efficacy of the international diplomacies.
The author of this book was ambassador at Tokyo, London and Washington, before holding the charge of secretary-general at the Farnesina; so he is a deep expert in that world that often results unintelligible to common citizens.

"Guida al piacere e al divertimento.
2000 indirizzi sfiziosi e alla moda"
Roberto Piccinelli
Fuorithema  pp.446  L. 28.000
Young but already experienced free-lance journalist, Piccinelli is an attentive and (we think) amused observer of the youths' trends, a haunter of the 'cult places' of amusement, not only the most well known and “in” ones but also those less known and new.
The list goes from discothèques to pubs, from farm holidays to hair stylists, and takes into account only the places really appellation contrôlée. First try and then trust.
