Born
in Ziano (PC) on 14 October 1933, he graduated in Pavia in 1958. In 1968 he
attended for one year the University of California (Los Angeles), thanks to
a scholarship awarded by the National Institute of Health. In 1970 he returned
as a Visiting Professor to the University of Southern California. Extraordinary
Professor of Gynaecologic Endocrinology since 1975, he is Regular Professor
of Obstetric and Gynaecologic Clinic at Milan University since 1979. In April
1993, invited by the Chairmen of the Maternity Hospitals of the University
of Illinois, he was Visiting Professor in Chicago. Chairman of the European
Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) for the 1990-92 biennium,
he is an honorary member of the Middle East Fertility Society, of the Finnish
Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology and of the Chicago Society of Obstetrics
and Gynecology. He is the Chairman of the Italian Society of Reproduction
(S.I.R.)
