"Per adesso.
Intervista con Carlo  De Benedetti"
Federico Rampini
Longanesi   L. 26.000

When  De Bendetti controlled the Olivetti he was - rightly -  a leading member of the Italian entrepreneurs carrying the responsibility of “a consolidated billing“ of nearly 14.000 billions.
Now, by the means of the Cofide, he administrates a group of middle sized firms with a billing less than 4000 billions; the diamond point is the “L'Editoriale l'Espresso”, whose meeting nobody takes part, having no operative rôles and not belonging either to the executive committee.
Carlo De Benedetti cannot forget what he was and he cannot accept to scale down to what he is. Maybe it is not to forget that in an interview carried out by Ramponi he wanted to go over (reviewing them) all the stages again of a carrier he has always lived intensively.
Maybe that's why the title of the book-interview is “By now”.  A mean to underline that you still must expect a lot from him. Maybe in this title, there's mainly, more than a communiqué to other people, a challenge to himself.
A book to read but with the purpose to make oneself not be conditioned by the personal opinion about facts and personages that Carlo De Benedetti expresses without periphrasis.

"La tentazione di credere.
Colloqui con la fede"
Paolo  Grieco,   Piero Gheddo
Piemme  L. 22.000

The book comes from the meeting between Paolo Grieco, wide-experienced reporter and a collaborator of ours, and Piero Gheddo, priest and missionary of the Pime (Pontificio Istituto Missioni Estere - Foreign Missions Pontifical Institute).
This talk with faith does not limit to the theological contents but it is a comparison between two people who know the world, its sufferings and its tragedies.

"Il meraviglioso
e il quotidiano nell'Occidente   medievale"
Jacques Le Goff
Laterza  L. 14.000

Le Goff is one of the major historians of the Middle Age. This volume belongs to that survey field, the author cares of so much, that wants to highlight of the middles ages, beyond the cultural patrimony, the every day life, usages and customs, topics often more captivating for the common reader, than the great events.
