Lethal weapon IV The
saga of Mel Gibson e Danny Glover, reckless and fearless policemen (blessed
men!), seems not having an end as well as the box office successes.
Surely the cast is distinguished, it encloses a star as Rene Russo and
the indestructible Joe Pesci, first rate character actor. Screenplays
are not the most original, but the liking of actors keeps unchanged. |

two
super-heroes Warner Home Video The purists of comics will raise some objections but
in this animation picture Batman and Superman (everlasting also in the
public's taste) fight together to “clean up the planet one wicked
at a time”, as reads the video cover. Lex Luthor, the Joker and
other shady guys are warned. |

Elizabeth The
traditional Britain mastery in packing period costume films is ratified
by this 1998 picture, directed by Shekar Kapur. The story concerns the
very famous queen leading England in troubled predicaments in the second
half of the sixteenth century. The cast is highly respected, from the
protagonist Kate Blanchett, to Geoffrey Rush and Joseph Fiennes (we
find again in the pluri-awarded “Shakespeare in love”) up
to the old stars Richard Attenborough and John Gielgud. |

Polygram Video When “Posse” came out in 1993, directed
and cast by Mario Van Peebles, it was received as an “alternative”
western - the protagonists are almost all coloured - pressing
rhythm and stylistically appreciable. As often occurs to action pictures,
if the first is successful, it is realized another straightaway. It
has occurred also this case: Van Peebles presents again himself as actor-director,
in the role of “Chance”, boss of a cow-boys band attempting
to make justice, their way. |

What dreams may come The
hereafter theme - and its relationship with earthly life - surely is
not very original, many pictures have already deal with, with different
results. It's different the case of this work by Vincent Ward, where,
in practice an unlucky family finds itself in heaven...all, but
the wife, who committing suicide, has been relegated in hell. |
