Born
in Rome in 1926, he attained an honours degree at the University of Messina
in 1949.
From
1949 to 1950 he was Assistant Professor of General Pathology at the University
of Palermo.
He
later held various posts and the following are some of them:
Associate
Professor of Pathology, University of Colorado Medical School (1960-67);
Professor
of Pathology, The Bowman Gray School of Medicine (1968-71);
Professor
of Pathology, Emory University School of Medicine (1971-79);
Professor
of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Medical University, South Carolina,
1979;
Director,
Diagnostic Immunology Section, University of South Carolina, 1979-88.
He
is a member of various national and international scientific associations
and President of the Clinical Cytometry Society. Awarded various prizes, he
contributes to various international reviews and is author of many scientific
publications.
