

He took his degree in Medicine and Surgery in 1977, at the Faculty of Medicine
and Surgery of the University of Ferrara, with highest marks and with a mention
of merit. He obtained with full marks and at the same Athenaeum, the specializations
in Clinical Haematology (1980) and then in Legal and Insurance Medicine (1983).
From 1986 he has been a teacher at the Specialization Schools of the Faculty
of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Ferrara. At the moment, he teaches
Hospital Legal Medicine, Legal Medicine of the National Health Service, Legal
Medicine of the Private Insurances and Social Medicine at the School of Legal
and Insurance Medicine.
From 1980 to 1992 he worked at the Legal and Social Insurance Medicine Service
of the Health Firm of Ferrara, first as an assistant and then as help-manager.
From 1992 to 1997 he became Director of the Service of Legal and Social Insurance
Medicine of the Health Firm of Ivrea.
In September 1997 he returned to Ferrara to direct the Service of Legal and
Social Insurance Medicine, and the technical Evaluation Group of the Health
Services Firm, where he was also given the role of coordinator of the functions
of Penitentiary Medicine.
He is member of scientific associations, either in medical-legal field (Italian
Society of Legal and Insurance Medicine, Italian Society of Social Medicine
and German Society of Legal Medicine), and in evaluation field (Italian Society
of Evaluation, Italian Society of Controllers).
He was invited as a chairman to different scientific congresses and professional
training courses, both of medical-legal interest and of evaluation in Public
Health field. Besides, for his experience in evaluation and in legislation
about disability, he was guest in an audition at the Italian Parliament.
He is the author of numerous scientific publications and 11 monographs. From
the month of September 2001 he will be chief editor of a new publishing initiative
with the Essebiemme publisher, constituted by a magazine (“Forum of Legal
Medicine and linked disciplines – Progresses in Public Health”), that will
be widespread also through the international computer net, and by a series
of volumes of Legal Medicine, linked disciplines and Public Health.
