September 11th is a date that will certainly go down in history. It was the day on which, together with the collapse of the towers, the end of an era was marked, and the daily life of every single individual, whether western or eastern, changed forever with the setting in of uncertainty and fear.
Streams of words, together with an overdose of images, have enabled experts and inexpert to analyse, explain, split hairs on what had happened; so, adding any further comment, speculation or plain consideration would really be superfluous. Our comment can only be aimed at anaAesthetising this atmosphere of anxiety and anguish and making some room for hope; the hope that all the uncontrolled cells which generate the most aberrant forms of terrorism will be identified and eliminated as soon as possible, by any means. In Italy, as customary, there always are those who run the tiger: some, the usual ones, who have always been trained to parade their reckless and hypocritical tolerance and regularly transform aggressors into victims, do so in order not lose conspicuousness and with the obvious purpose of safeguarding the position they have hewed out for themselves. Others, the up-and-coming ones, resort to the old system, by using demagogic propaganda to come into prominence, without realising how obsolete and outdated they are. In order not to give these personalities the feeling that they have attained their goal, let us get back to normality and inform you that in this issue you will find the tables with the related balance sheet items set by the Ministry of Health for the year 2002. We are aware of the fact that we are providing you with a useful advance piece of news, which will enable whoever operates in the sector to get to know what the Minister of Health, Prof. Sirchia, has planned and will include in the Financial Bill to be soon discussed in Parliament. We would like to point out that we have not mentioned the name of any of the individuals in question, in order not to advertise them further; if those who want peace are only the 200,000 who took part in the march, we really ought to get worried; but we are quite sure that the people who really want peace are all those who were not there, those who do not scream, do not damage other people’s cars, shop windows, and so on, and therefore we feel more confident and even quite sure that in the end, with God’s help, good cannot but prevail.
