CURRICULUM VITAE Carlo Foresta
Graduated
in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Padova in 1976 (110/110 cum lauda).
Specialized in Endocrinology at the University of Padova in 1979 (70/70). Specialized
in Andrology at the University of Pisa in 1982 (70/70 cum lauda). Professor
of Physiology of Reproduction at the “Complutense University” of Madrid in 2000.
From 1978 he coordinates a research staff involved in reproductive medicine
at the University of Padova. Major research fields include testicular cytology,
pathophysiology of hypothalamus-hypophysis-testicular axis, physiology of sperm,
treatment of male infertility, molecular and genetic aspects of spermatogenesis,
genetics of cryptorchidism. Member of the Referee committee of the following
international journal: Nature Genetics, The Lancet, International Journal of
Andrology, European Journal of Endocrinology, Hormone and Metabolic Research,
Human Reproduction, Molecular Human Reproduction, Kidney Research. Member of
many national and international scientific societies and member of the council
of the Italian Society of Fertility and Sterility, Italian Society of Reproduction,
Italian Society of Medical Andrology, Italian Society of Endocrinology. Author
of 400 scientific publications, many of which published in international peer-reviewed
journals. Author of 15 books in the field of human reproduction. He coordinated
the scientific staff of 15 national congresses on Reproductive Medicine. He
participated as speaker to 80 international congresses and to 150 national congresses.
He won six national and international scientific awards.
