DUNCAN-ROBINSON:
SAN ANTONIO QUEEN OF THE NBA

An unexpected title with a pair of stars, casual as well. The first NBA title of San Antonio sounds as a custard-pie for whom has been programmed over years his own's strategies scientifically to climb the roof of the world. The heritage of the Chicago Bulls without Michael Jordan, in the year of the sounding strike of the players against the owners, must have awarded great teams as the Lakers, the Rockets or Miami. Finally in the roulette of this championship, halved for the controversy above mentioned, it emerges the white-black of the Spurs, for the first time lords of the world championship of the rings.
Saying their success was a far conjecture maybe is excessive. On February Greg Popovich, coach and  manager of San Antonio, after losing 8 matches against 14, was in odour of discharge. Guessing how the change brought his quintet from being the ugly duckling to the big team able to lose since then only five matches belongs to one of those mysteries of sporting psychology. Surely helped by the presence in the Spurs of two real outsiders, the pair Duncan-Robinson able to tow in the topical moments all the team.
A duo that for opposite reasons got to the basket world rather fortuitously. Duncan, coming from the Virgin Islands, wanted to go to the Olympiads as his elder sister at Seoul in 1988. A great talent of the 400 metres stopped by the hurricane Hugo, that swept the island bringing away also the only swimming pool where the little (to say it this way) Tim trained. An exponential growth in centimetres has directed unavoidable him under the scoreboard.
The same factor that compelled David Robinson to give up his career in the Navy. He dreamt to fulfil himself mainly in the oceanic seabed. The top would have been being admiral of a submarine. Too many centimetres in only a season compelled him to abandon the idea before bandaging his head with a protective turban. Even for him the basket was the natural outlet. A career scattered by continuous placements but never by an important high note. He himself said it. "I was deemed as a good looser. Now I've got the dream of my life I find myself suddenly without targets. I must find one as soon as possible ".
As San Antonio, a town deemed provincial among the phagocytizing basket metropolis and now unexpectedly queen mainly tanks to the "Twin Towers ", this is the nickname given to the two protagonists. A television market, that of the Spurs, among the most little; to give an idea, as regards to audience and spectators, alike the Udinese in the Italian football panorama. But also this time the American dream has succeeded in making a breach among the billions (a lot more) than other more supported realities.
