FLUKES OF THE STARTING MILLENNIUM . There’s someone that is waiting the same way as a miracle or a baby. It’s the horoscope of the new year, timely written up at the end of the current season. It has the power to deceive you, to influence you, to make you dream or curse. But hardly it is foreboding very bad news, provided the rule according to which the kindness as an utopian present to face the new season. In sport, judging by the first winners in the different disciplines, the 2000 can be deemed by the moment a turning point, the year of illusions turning into reality. It’s doubtlessly true for Angelo Weiss, azure skier, with a Habsburg second name that 31 years old, performs the undertaking of his career. A white circle promise since ever, grown as many in the shadow of the myth Tomba, the athlete from Trento, having wanted it for more than ten seasons, here it is his World cup first race.  It was 22 months since an Italian won a special slalom. How not to believe then to the favourable astral conjunction, wanting strongly turning over the page at the arrive of the fatal year zero?
